Presenter Guide - Oral
1. Prepare Your Presentation
Length of presentation material should be in accordance with your time allotted (15 minutes or 30 minutes). You are requested to load your presentation material before the session starts.
2. Presentation room equipment
A meeting room is equipped with 1 LCD Projector, 1 Window-based PC, 1 Mac, 1 Screen, and 1 Laser Pointer. The computers are installed the software including PowerPoint, Adobe Reader, and Keynote (Mac only). Please bring along your presentation files in USB thumb drives only.
3. Create a Backup Copy of Your Presentation
We recommend that you bring at least 1 copy of your presentation to the meeting for backup purposes. Only USB thumb drives can be accepted.
4. Give Your Presentation
Be considerate to the other speakers and audience by staying within your allotted time. The allotted time for your presentation includes a discussion and change over to the next speaker. Session Chairs will hold you to the allotted time. This is essential to ensure adequate time for questions and discussion as well as adherence to the schedule. Please discuss the same material as reported in your abstract submission. At the end of the meeting, all presentation files will be destroyed.
Presenter Guide - Poster
1. Prepare Your Poster
Each presenter is provided with a 90 cm high by 180 cm wide poster board. The presentation must cover the same material as the abstract submitted. a. Place your Abstract ID, Abstract Title and Authors’names prominently at the top of your poster to allow viewers to identify your abstract easily. Presenter’s Name must be underlined. b. Authors’ Names, e-mails and address information must be provided for incase the viewer is interested in contacting you for more information c. You have complete freedom in displaying your information in figures, tables, text, photographs, etc. in the poster. d. Include the background of your research followed by results and conclusions. A successful poster presentation depends on how well you convey information to an interested audience e. If possible, prepare the same material in the oral presentation format.You might be requested to present in oral sessions.
2. Set Up Your Poster (See also 1 above)
a. Posers should be set-up by noon on July 22. b. Posters are scheduled to be on display throughout the symposium. Core time for the poster session is 13:00~14:00 on July 23 and 24. Please check a poster session program for your core time. c. Adhesive tapes and pins are available at the Poster Help Desk nearby. If you have special needs for your poster presentation, please bring those supplies with you to the meeting.
3. Remove Your Poster
a. Posters must be removed after noon by 3pm on July 25. b. After this time, posters remaining on the boards may be removed and discarded by cleaners.
LOC will not be responsible for posters and materials left on posterboards after the symposium.
Publications of Proceedings
All abstracts accepted and presented at the Symposium (oral or poster) may be submitted as papers for publication in the official peer-reviewed IAG Symposia Series at Springer Publisher.
Manuscripts for possible publication in the proceedings have to be submitted for peer-review through the IAG Symposia Editorial Manager following the INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHORS supplied therein. Read also PROCEDURE OF SUBMISSION in PDF format.
Deadline for submission is September 30, 2014.
During the check-in for the GENAH2014 in Matsushima, a subscription form will be handed out to all delegates for purchasing the conference proceedings at a special subscription price.
Abstract submission
Please prepare your abstract in a MS-WORD or PDF format (You can download sample file by clicking the link) and send it by e-mail to abstract@genah2014.jpn.org with following information.
1. Session number (See a page of Session and Program)
2. Preferred presentation style (ORAL or POSTER)
3. Author’s contact information
Name, Affiliation, E-mail, Phone, and Fax
4. Wish to apply a travel support (Applicants must be young researchers)
Abstract submission was closed.
Important Notes for Travel Support Applications
Limited support for travel expenses will be available to young researchers. The maximum support will be 100,000 yen per applicant. Applicants should be preseneting authors of the symposium. An application by young scientists from developing countries is welcome. Please notify your wish to apply the support with your abstract submission.
